2021, another year, time for bringing up another edition of our college magazine –INSIGHT.
The bygone year is going to remain engraved in the minds of all of us. The year has taught us a
number of lessons. The most important one is that if the desire and passion is within us then we
can work from anywhere…
The Covid pandemic has changed our life as we know it. It has brought a turbulence in the life
of all of us. Our daily routines have changed. In educational institutions, the pandemic forced
us to change the mode of teaching from offline to online. Initially we were very skeptical about
how this change would work out but with time, we adapted and accepted this new mode of the
teaching-learning process. This pandemic has brought a paradigm shift in the teaching-learning
process. The college instantly switched to the online mode of teaching. Various online platforms
like Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams took over the traditional classroom. Study ma-
terial was also uploaded on the college’s website so that students did not face any difficulties in
learning.

were lockdowns, restrictions on movements but this could not hinder our spirits. We contin-
ued to work on our philosophy, Beyond the classroom…, and where education matters…Several
webinars, virtual tours, workshops, seminars, international conferences were organized in this
period. As we see the year gone by, we feel satisfied that we could do everything which we would
have done in a normal year. In fact, with the pandemic also stretching onto this year, it seems
that this has now become the ‘New Normal’. It is thus imperative, that all of us, be it teachers or
students, should continue to evolve ourselves and quickly adapt to the various new technologies
which help us in the learning process and in our overall personality development.
I am proud to share with you all that the college has achieved STAR STATUS from the Depart-
ment of Biotechnology, Government of India, wherein seven departments of the college will be
receiving grants for procuring state-of-the-art equipment to be used for undergraduate teach-
th
ing. Also, the college has secured the 19 position in India Today’s ranking for the Best Science
Colleges of India.
The editorial team has wonderfully compiled the various articles in this edition of the magazine.
Also, I am very happy to know that this edition of our college magazine is fully designed by our
students. In fact, right from the cover page till the last page, we can proudly say that this edition
is our in-house production. I congratulate the entire designing and editorial team for doing this
fantastic job. This is a shining example which shows that the pandemic has not let our spirits
down but has, in fact, lifted our spirits and given an opportunity to us to exploit our potential to
the utmost.
In the end, I would like to say that never underestimate yourself, keep working towards achieving
your goals even in adverse situations and surely you will emerge stronger and wiser.
