Business Incubator (ANDC inSTART Foundation)

In a major policy initiative in 2015, the Government of NCT Delhi announced its induction policy to leverage the demographic dividend of youthful India to spur greater innovation led startups for generating more value to society and economy while boosting global fame of resurgent India by creating globally competitive products and services while co-creating (with helpful government and private support/angel agencies) extensive gainful job opportunities and exciting career growth opportunities for everyone to sustain long term attractiveness of the planned start-up-success culture in NCT Delhi.As a follow up, eleven incubation centres were established by 2016-17 in academic institutions.

The presence of the incubator in the college makes Acharya Narendra Dev College stand out amongst its peer colleges in University of Delhi. Recognizing the efforts of the college in entrepreneurship, college was chosen by the Government of NCT of Delhi to set up the Business Incubator under its incubation policy. The prime objective was to provide a progressive and comprehensive platform to the entrepreneurs and to encourage the student community - both past and present, faculty and others to take up entrepreneurship as a preferred career option. The business incubator was set-up as a section 8 company, ANDC inStart Foundation(AIF), in June 2017. The company is steered by dedicated board of six Directors. The incubator since its inception has supplemented the efforts of the Entrepreneurship Lab at AND College to bring to the students various workshops, talks, knowledge series. The incubator has now become a sounding board and mentor for students who are working on their startup ideas. AIF has inducted sixteen start-ups from 71 start-up proposals through rounds of rigorous evaluation process in multiple phases starting from 2018. The inducted start-ups include six (6) teams of AND College student/Alumni under its fold.

AIF has organized number of workshops exclusively for the students of AND College on subjects around entrepreneurship, Design Thinking and innovation. In a very short span of time ANDC inStart Foundation has made a name for itself in the startup ecosystem and by extension it has meant that the high standards of the college are further elevated. As AIF is maturing, it is able to script success stories that has made the host institute proud of its efforts and achievements.
