Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (https://unnatbharatabhiyan.gov.in/) is a scheme of MHRD, GoI, aimed at bringing transformational changes in rural development processes of India by engaging the academic world (higher educational institutions) to contribute their knowledge for rural development. The focus is also on the integrated approach of Public and Private sectors to understand the needs of rural India and providing solutions for them to have a sustainable growth pattern. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan started with the initiative of a group of dedicated faculty members of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi working for long in the area of rural development and appropriate technology. The program was formally launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in presence of The President of India on November 11, 2014.

Acharya Narendra Dev College is one of the participating Institutions in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan with Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as the Regional Coordinating Institute. Under UBA, ANDC has adopted following five rural areas in South Delhi:

  1. Khanpur
  2. Govindpuri Slum Area
  3. Okhla Industrial Area
  4. Pul Pehlad
  5. Tajpur Pahari Badarpur

Dr. Sunita Jetly, Associate Professor, Department ofBiomedical Science is the Project Coordinator to carry out all UBA activities in the institution.
