DBT Star College

Department of Biotechnology has sanctioned DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME to our college in 2017. The scheme aims to brand and nurture excellence in UG Science education. The program emphasizes holistic improvement of science education at undergraduate level with special emphasis on practical training to students. The aim of the scheme is to improve

  1. practical training in existing Science courses like Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science, student
  2. projec (interdisciplinary/interdepartmental),
  3. visits to be undertaken by students to National Laboratories and industries and
  4. faculty improvement programs, etc.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has recommended for support under the strengthening component of the Star College Scheme to seven departments (Biomedical Science, Botany, Chemistry, Electronics, Physics, Zoology and Computer Science) of the College. Under the strengthening component of the Star College Scheme, DBT has provided a one time grant of Rs. 5.00 and Rs. 2.00 lakhs recurring grant for a period of 3 years to each department.
